The Proprietary House in Perth Amboy has long been recognized as one of New Jersey’s most historic houses. Architect Magazine did a profile of the house and its historic preservation project. Proprietary House will receive on Oct 14, 2021 a NJ Preservation Project Award. The Proprietary House, in Perth Amboy, one of two extant 18th century British Royal Governors’ Mansions constructed in the US, recently underwent a major restoration.
